Data vintage. The figures are for 2024 and have not been refreshed since this map was made.
Data note. The SFLC.in tracker (internetshutdowns.in) answered 502 on 2026-10-20 and no primary state table was found, so this map keeps its earlier figures. SFLC recorded 848 shutdowns in India from 2012 to 2024. Human Rights Watch counted 418 of 690 shutdowns (61 per cent) in Jammu and Kashmir to 2022, and a Business Standard report puts Jammu and Kashmir at 50.8 per cent of shutdowns from 2016 to 2025, a different window and source. These count recorded events, not days of shutdown.
